Welcome back to Stake.
The past week at Stake
Falcons crowned IEM Cologne champions - Vitality out at quarters
A historic week in Counter-Strike. Team Falcons swept FURIA 3-0 in the IEM Cologne Major grand final at the Lanxess Arena last Saturday, with NiKo finally getting his hands on a Major trophy after 18 attempts and over a decade of near-misses. m0NESY took home MVP, karrigan won his second Major as IGL. Our Stake CS2 partner Team Vitality was devastatingly knocked out by Falcons in the quarterfinals which then saw the side that ended their three-peat dream go on to lift the trophy without dropping a single map in the final. Astralis made it through to playoffs before being eliminated in the bracket.
Leviatán pull off one of the great VCT comebacks
The Americas' Leviatán became the youngest team ever to win an international Valorant trophy on Sunday, beating Paper Rex 3-2 in the Masters London grand final at the Copper Box Arena. With $350,000 and eight VCT points on the line, this was Leviatán's first international trophy and the first Masters title ever won by a LATAM team. Read the bracket history on our VCT Masters predictions blog.
Wyndham Clark holds on for his second US Open
At Shinnecock Hills last Sunday, Wyndham Clark became only the ninth player in US Open history to win wire-to-wire, finishing one stroke ahead of Sam Burns to claim his second US Open in four years. Scottie Scheffler's career Grand Slam pursuit fell short with a T4 finish on his 30th birthday.
The major international football tournament - group stage shocks keep coming
Through matchday two of the biggest soccer tournament of the year, the underdog energy has not slowed. Spain, the No 2 ranked side and pre-tournament favourite, is still without a win after being held 0-0 by Cape Verde, while Portugal salvaged just one point from their opener with DR Congo. Lionel Messi's first-ever tournament hat-trick has Argentina top of their group. Germany cruised past Curaçao 7-1. Five African teams are still on points. Matchday three closes out the group stage this weekend. Read the latest football news in our tournament predictions blog.
Big bets to make this weekend
A weekend that starts with Wimbledon and ends with the Austrian GP, plus the knockout stage of the international football tournament looming in early July. All current sportsbook offers can be found on the Stake promotions page but these are the markets we're circling.
Wimbledon opens Monday at the All England Club
Tennis returns to grass, and this year's draw has more storylines than usual. Jannik Sinner enters as defending men's champion, but Carlos Alcaraz is OUT injured. Novak Djokovic chases a record-shattering 25th Grand Slam at age 38. Serena Williams returns to singles competition for the first time since 2022 on a wildcard. Total prize money is up to 64.2m, with each singles champion earning 3.6m. The Wimbledon main draw runs from 29 June through 12 July with the outright winner markets live now.
The international football tournament - Round of 32 looming
Matchday three of the group stage rolls through the weekend, with knockout permutations on the line in every fixture. Our promo stack is still in full effect: the 90th Minute Payout returns your stake as a winner if your team leads at the 90th minute but doesn't win, the Daily Odds Boost lifts the price on a selected match each day, the Halftime Rush Odds Boost sharpens in-play markets at the break, and the Multi Bet Boost lifts payouts on qualifying multi bets.
F1 Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring
F1 lands at the Red Bull Ring for round 8 of the season this weekend (26-28 June). Kimi Antonelli still leads the Drivers' Championship by 41 points, but Lewis Hamilton's emotional first Ferrari win at Barcelona has cut what once looked like a runaway championship into a genuine fight. The shortest lap on the calendar packs three DRS zones into a hilly circuit set in the Styrian mountains. Our F1 picks blog has the grid in full detail.
X Games Sacramento - Stake-sponsored, Cal Expo, this weekend
Our sponsorship slate has another moment this weekend as the MoonPay X Games League kicks off in Sacramento (26-28 June). The new league format pits four city-based clubs (LA, NYC, São Paulo, Tokyo) against each other across 18 skateboard, BMX, and Moto X events at Cal Expo. Nyjah Huston (26 X Games medals) and Garrett Reynolds (16 BMX golds) headline the rider list.
UFC Fight Night: Fiziev vs Torres
The Octagon heads back this weekend with a lightweight headliner between Rafael Fiziev and Ignacio Bahamondes Torres. Our UFC split decision insurance refunds your stake on any winner-market bet that loses by split decision - handy for a Fight Night card with two strikers in the main event. Find the full card on the Fiziev vs Torres fight page, and read our latest takes in the UFC picks blog.
MLB
The 9th inning refund is your safety net against late MLB collapses - if your Winner (incl. extra innings) selection leads going into the ninth but ends up losing, you get up to $100 back. Daily MLB markets can be found on Stake Sportsbook.
