How to Bet on the Rugby World Cup & Rugby Bet Types
1x2
The same as the match-winner odds or moneyline market , 1x2 allows you to bet on upcoming rugby matches by backing either team to win or the draw, just like Rugby League games .
Double Chance
Double Chance markets let you cover the prospect of a match being drawn and won by either side. For example, if you don’t think England will lose against New Zealand, you could back England/Draw on this market.
Handicap
Pre-game favourites start the game with a points deficit. If you think they can cover this deficit and still go on to win, you can often get a better price on the favourite in the handicap market . There are also Asian totals markets which cover how many points a team will score in individual matches, like the Over/Under market and may be considered more of a prop bet than a conventional wager.
Halftime/Fulltime
Bet on which team will be winning at halftime and full-time. For instance, if you think England will lead New Zealand early on but go on to lose, you could take England/New Zealand on this market.

Don’t underestimate the power of the host nation. France is hosting this year’s Rugby World Cup – and they just so happen to be a great team too. They were runner-up in the 2023 Six Nations.
Only four teams have won the Rugby World Cup since its inauguration in 1987 – New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, who now have Eddie Jones as head coach and England. That means just one world champion has heralded from the Northern Hemisphere, with the remaining three from the Southern Hemisphere.
